First stirrings of Spring

Really, it’s still winter, but we’re having a lovely mild week. The multi graft stone fruit tree is blossoming, and so are the backyard strawberries. I’ve ordered cassava cuttings & comfrey for the backyard, and galangal, Ginger & turmeric for the front yard (to plant under the palms).

MrB & I went for a walk on the weekend, and took cuttings of Rosemary & lavender. We’ve potted them in the mini greenhouse, and we’re hoping to start a herb hedge in late spring.

I expect we’ll have another coldsnap soon, but in the meantime I’m very happy to have a taste of the gardening weather to come.
