Planting by the moon

I have started following the process of moon planting, as described here by Linda Woodrow, and here by Lyn Bagnall.

I am finding it a very good way to keep on track with my planting (no matter how distracting things are at work), because it sets out certain times of the month to do different jobs, ie plant leafy greens after the new moon, flowering & fruiting plants at the first quarter etc etc. No matter how distracted I am, I plant a bit of everything every month by following the lunar cycle. An I don’t have to think too hard about it, which is important!

There are more elaborate systems, too, that follow the sign the moon is moving through on a particular day (ie moon in Taurus = plant root veggies). I sometimes follow this system – but not always.
