Gardening in the heat

Sydney is dealing with a heatwave, but given that our northern neighbours are on cyclone lockdown, I can’t complain.

We have our new water tank now, which will be installed properly in the next week. When it will be filled remains to be seen – but I’m looking forward to being able to use rainwater on our trees & veggies.

We’ve lost some seedlings in the heat, but the eggplants, lemons, tomatoes, figs & chillies are loving it. The tomatoes & beetroot seem to be going pretty well, and the basil is ready for serious pesto-making.

Here in the desert we are experiencing a cold wave! I lost most of my lettuce but collards and broccoli are doing well. Would love to hear more about the rainwater use in the future.
