We did a big fruit & veggie shop today – the first proper shop in 10 days (Mr B bought potatoes and bananas mid-week). We spent $62 at Harris farm makets, which included various veggies for weekday meals, a bag of fried tofu puffs, 600g of hard tofu, a $10 tray of nectarines, and a huge Kent pumpkin for $1.49 a kilo. I also sweet-talked MrB into buying half a dozen Mulloon Creek eggs.  These are not cheap – $6.99 for 6, but they are from true free-range chicken, not factory-farmed chooks who are allowed outside for an hour a day. I’m still not going to eat them, but since Mr B eats eggs once a fortnight, I figure we should pay the real cost of free-range.
