Eating out (and eating in)

My partner is a die-hard meat-eater, but accomodates my vegetarianism not just by eating veg with me at home, but also by coming to all-veg restaurants occasionally. He LOVES the food at Vina in King Street Newtown, and so do I – especially the ‘chicken’ rice paper roll platter for two (a bargain at $25). Almost everything on the menu is vegan, and truly delicious. The atmosphere is classic ‘neighbourhood Asian’ – clean, cheap & cheerful. The staff are incredibly friendly, and have a family feel. I imagine this would be a good place to veg families to come with kids – it’s very relaxed, and the portions are generous, and good for sharing.

Inspired by Vina, he now makes fabulous ricepaper rolls for us at home, though I add a little marinated tofu, rather than the faux meat.
