A loquat tree overhanging the footpath. These produce lots of small, apricot-like fruit, very early in Spring, and are beloved by fruit bats (aka flying foxes). I haven’t tried one, but apparently they make great jam.

My neighbourhood was home to lots of Greek immigrants from the ’50s to the ’80s. There are still lots of grapevines around, but not many that hang over the footpath like this one.

A mystery citrus, planted in the nature strip around the corner from my house, by person or persons unknown. It was looking very healthy for a while, but needs weeding & feeding now – I may need to go on a mercy errand one evening this week.
